Family Fun Days
Family Events At Spectrum Connections:
We believe families need opportunities to connect, have fun and feel a sense of belonging in an inclusive, neuroaffirming environment. Each year, we host two main family events designed with neurodivergent children and their whānau in mind.
Our first event takes place around Easter and autumn. In 2026, we delivered a Sensory Easter Egg Hunt, creating a fun, low-pressure experience where children could participate in a way that suited their individual sensory needs. In March 2027, we will be hosting another family event at Merivale Community Centre, with more details to come.
Our second major event is NeuroFest, held each September. NeuroFest is a free, family-friendly celebration of neurodiversity, bringing together neurodivergent children, young people, adults and their whānau with local services, organisations and community groups. With interactive activities, sensory-friendly spaces and opportunities to connect with support providers, NeuroFest creates a welcoming environment where families can discover, connect, participate and belong, without the cost barriers often associated with accessing specialist services and activities.

Booking
Bookings for these events are essential, We use Eventbrite as a booking tool for the larger events. please keep and eye out on our Facebook page for posts advertising our events.
For the smaller events we use email to book, please email us on [email protected] with your name and personal details and the names, ages of your children. We will then give you our banking details so you can process payment. Your booking will be confirmed once your payment has been received.
Membership
Being a member entitles parents to great discounts on our offerings. Membership will entitle parents to free entry to all our Family Fun Day Events. To become a member, please go to our membership page.
